A Kindle on your wish list? A paperback stack for autumn? Amazon’s US Prime Big Deal Days arrives October 6–7, 2026. The fun part is finding the reading setup or next book you already wanted. Here is a ten-minute plan to make the event useful instead of endlessly refreshing a deals page.

First, decide whether Prime belongs in your plan

Amazon says the event’s Prime-exclusive offers require a Prime membership. If you already have one, there is nothing new to join. If you do not, look at the membership or trial Amazon actually presents to your account. An eligible free trial may be available; the price, renewal terms and eligibility appear at Amazon checkout. Join for benefits you would use beyond one impulsive purchase, or simply browse and skip the membership.

Make a three-item reading wish list

• One book: a title you were planning to read anyway. Note its current format and price so you have a comparison when the event begins.
• One device: if you want an e-reader, write down the exact generation, storage and seller. A similar-looking listing may be a different model.
• One comfort upgrade: perhaps a cover or stand. Check its fit with your own Kindle before ordering.

Try the reading benefit you may already have

Prime Reading offers an eligible Prime member a rotating selection of reading. Search for three books you would genuinely start soon before adding another subscription. On October 6–7, compare the final offer

Open your short list, check the current price, edition, seller and return terms, and compare them with the notes you made beforehand. Amazon has announced early reading offers, but specific books and devices may change price or sell out. If nothing you want is genuinely better value, the best result is a list for another day.
