This policy explains how BooksAvenue, the reading website at booksavenue.co founded by Adam, handles information when you read our guides, subscribe, comment, use reading tools or follow shopping links. For privacy questions or requests, email booksavenue@yahoo.com.sg.
Information you provide
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include. Subscriptions collect an email address so that posts or newsletters can be delivered. Comment forms request a name and email address and may accept a website address; your comment and display name can be public. Do not include private account details, payment information or sensitive personal information in comments.
Website operation and service providers
BooksAvenue uses WordPress and Jetpack features for publishing, subscriptions and reader interaction. Hosting, security and spam-prevention services can process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and timestamps. Subscription and comment services process information needed to deliver those features. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy for its handling of data.
Analytics and reading tools
We use Google Analytics to understand website activity, including page visits and interactions with shopping links. Analytics can process cookies or similar identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location and activity on the site. Our shopping-link measurement records the retailer and page where a link was used; it does not give BooksAvenue access to your retailer account or checkout details. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Reading tools can use information entered into them and browser storage to provide their features. The shared reading counter accepts a page count and an optional nickname. Its on-page notice explains the nickname’s use. Avoid entering identifying or sensitive information into book searches or optional reading-tool fields.
Cookies and similar technologies
Website functions, analytics, embedded content and advertising services can use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers. These can support preferences, security, usage measurement and advertising attribution. The technologies encountered depend on the page, features used and third-party links opened.
Google advertising
BooksAvenue is seeking approval to display Google AdSense advertising. This statement does not mean that Google ads are currently active on every page. When Google ads are served, Google and third-party advertising vendors may place and read cookies or use other identifiers to provide, measure and personalise advertising based on visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.
You can manage Google personalised-ad settings through My Ad Center and learn about advertising technologies in Google’s advertising policy information. You can also visit the Digital Advertising Alliance’s choices page for participating vendors. These settings do not remove all advertising or stop every type of measurement.
Affiliate links and external websites
Some links support BooksAvenue through affiliate commissions. Retailers and affiliate networks—including Amazon, Rakuten Advertising and partners identified in our guides—can process referral information and use cookies or other identifiers after you follow a link, to attribute eligible transactions. Their own privacy policies and account settings apply on their services. A book search may include your entered title, author or ISBN in the retailer link you choose.
If you make an optional payment through a linked checkout, the payment provider processes that transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. BooksAvenue may receive transaction and contact information needed to fulfil the service described at checkout; do not send card details by email.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can unsubscribe using the link in subscription emails, manage cookies and site storage in your browser, and contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of information you supplied. Blocking cookies may affect some features. For Google Analytics, Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on. Where a consent control is displayed, use it to manage the choices offered.
Retention, security and international processing
Information is retained for the purposes described above, including responding to enquiries, maintaining subscriptions or comments, operating the site and handling necessary records. Retention and deletion also depend on the services processing the information. Service providers may process data outside your country. We limit access to information used to operate BooksAvenue, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when website features or providers change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Send questions or privacy requests to booksavenue@yahoo.com.sg. Please identify the feature involved and provide only the information needed to locate your request.
